Career Internship

Students participating in advanced CTS programming, may have the opportunity to earn credit through job shadowing opportunities as part of their course. Typically, students are placed with community partners in areas such as:

  • Hairstyling
  • Health Care​
  • Sports Medicine
  • Power Engineering

Green Certificate​

Agriculture focused apprenticeship-style program with 11 different specializations

  • Earning up to 16 30-level credits.​
  • Receiving a recognized credential that can lead to careers in agriculture or agri-business.​
  • Gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of industry professionals.

Work Experience

This program allows students to earn high school credits by engaging in part-time employment or volunteer work.

  • HCS 3000 Prerequisite
  • Earn up to 15 credits toward a high school diploma.​
  • Every 25 hours = 1 credit

Eligibility Criteria:​

  • Students must be 15 years old or older
  • A trained first-aider available to students at ALL times.
  • Students working under supervision.
  • Provide a safe and meaningful work environment.

Registered Apprenticeship Program​ (RAP)

This program allows students to earn high school credits by engaging in part-time or full-time employment in the skilled trades.

  • HCS 3000 Prerequisite
  • HCS3010 Prerequisite
  • CSTS2020 Recommended​​
  • Start an apprenticeship while earning high school credits through paid on-the-job training
  • Must be a paid position under the supervision of a certified journeyperson
  • Explore careers in the skilled trades
  • RAP is part of YOUR graduation plan
  • Earn up to 40 credits towards graduation - every 125 hours = 5 credits
  • Earn up to 1000 hours towards their first-year apprenticeship
  • RAP is available year-round!
  • Part-time or full-time during in school year AND Summer School​
